Doug Flutie: Yea, you've seen the highlights.  You know what's up Bill.

Bill: How about coming out of retirement?  You know we have a starting QB spot up for grabs.

Doug: Yeah, I did notice that USC backup wasn't quite working out as a starter, but who could replace Tom Brady.  I guess I could, but I great gig now.  Do you know how smart I look sitting next to Terry Bowden every week?  Ivy League schools are lining up to give me an honary degree.

Bill: Those Bowdens are pretty nutty.  I don't think you can pass up this opportunity though, with YouTube and everything these days, everyone can enjoy those Flutie highlights.

]]> <![CDATA[NFL Week 6 picks]]> http://www.chicagocubsnews.com/bigdaddyc/weblog/4679/nfl-week-6-picks.html http://www.chicagocubsnews.com/bigdaddyc/weblog/4679/nfl-week-6-picks.html Fri, 10 Oct 2008 16:10:03 PDT The NFL is completely lop-sided this year.  The NFC East is undoubtedly the best division in football, with 3 (maybe 4) potential Super Bowl contenders.  Fortunately for the rest of the league, most of the teams regardless of their record at this point could potentially earn a playoff berth by winning their division.  If the playoffs were to end today you would have NY Giants, Chicago, Carolina, Arizona, Washington, and Dallas in the NFC, and Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Denver, New England and one from (NY Jets, Miami, Baltimore, and Indianapolis).  Can the NFC East continue to dominate the NFL?  Can New England keep winning with Matt Cassel?  Who walks out of Indy 3-2?  Lots to look forward to this weekend in the NFL.

Go Cubs go! Hey Chicago Whadaya say?  The Cubs are gonna win today!”  Well the only sounds coming from Cubs fans the last two nights were expletives and choking down a sausage followed by an Old Style.  The curse has reared its ugly head again which means it’s the same old story in the post-season at Wrigley.  8 straight playoff losses dating back to the Bartman disaster have left Wrigleyville hopeless.

This is what happens when a manager who once threw bases across the field now looks like the Dude on the bench.  I half expect to see Lou lean over to Alan Trammell and ask, “Mind if I do a jay?”  The Cubs the dude abides
