it's a big series for the cubs this weeks. Four games in Milwaukee. And what better way to see what a team is really made of than to start off facing Sabathia and Sheets. I think it's going to be a hard fought battle on both ends. It's still July and this series will not make or break either team but it can swing a lot of momentum in one's favor. The Cubs will have most of there banged up team ready to play except for Kerry Wood. But with Marmol and the newly brough up Jeff Samardzija, their bullpen should be pretty strong.
Milwaukee is a well put together team with a pitching staff that ranks near the top of the league and some really good power hitters in Fielder, Hart and the incomprable Ryan Braun. While I feel the Cubs hitting is much more well rounded with power and contact hitters, they have been slumping mightly lately. This is going to be hard to turn around against a Milwaukee staff with the likes of Sheets and Sabathia but as a whole they do give up the long ball.

Let's take a Break posted on 07/15/2008
Been awhile since I posted on here. The cubs are looking good up to the all-star break so far. They just got Rich Harden which may be a good pick up for this year but I am a little worried about his history of being injured. I like him last through this season but would not like to see him sign a long term deal. I still think the cubs need to make one more trade. I don't think it needs to be a superstar but someone who can fill in in case of injury. If they can get a quality starter like AJ Burnett or a Randy Wolf I think it would be some nice insurance or another outfielder to back out the current guys out there just in case. Overall they have a solid team but I think they really need to get healthy and keep the pressure on in the second half or t

Cubs-Sox Round 1 posted on 06/20/2008
Before people start complaining about the Pierzynski strike out. Yes he didn't swing but it was a strike. That is all I have to say. A good game by all. Go Cubs.

I'm just gonna throw my two cents out here for which Cubs I think deserve to be on the All-Star team. Soriano, Fukudome and Soto should all be voted in. I think DeRosa may sneak on the team, not by voting but since 2B is a little weak this year and he has been solid. Theriot deserves to be but I think SS is too deep for him to make it. I would like to see Lee and Ramirez on but I think only Ramirez will get on. As far as pitchers go I see Zamabrano and Dempster being locks to get on. Marmol too I think is a good bet. If Wood leads the league in saves by the break I think he will be too. So in total I can see 9 cubs deserving to make it. In reality I'm gonna 7 will: Soriano, Fukudome, Soto, Ramirez, Zambrano, Dempste

I am tired of all the critics talking about how the cubs are only good because they are playing subpar teams. Currently they are 7-8 against teams with winning records. I know that isn't a very good record but they cubs are doing what they need to do and that is not losing to bad teams early in the season. The National League is full of bad teams though. Only 6 of the 16 are above .500 with the Cubs being three and a half games ahead of the second best team. Good teams find ways to win no matter who they play and the Cubs are doing that. You can't blame the cubs for their schedule. And to be honest, the Cubs make teams look bad. They will be tested the second half of the year and I think by the end of July we will see where they stand. They will make the playoffs and they will have home-field advantage. Bring anyone you want into Wrigley and the Cubs will prevail in a seven game series.
