I've been asking myself that very question for some time now. I really want to believe they can but now history is against them, teams that win Game 1 on the road are 13-1 in the NLDS. This stat alone is scary but it is the Cubs and anything that can go wrong will. Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE the Cubs and want nothing more than for them to win it all.

Did you watch that game last night? I have never heard the Wrigley faithfuls so quiet in a game. As soon as Loney hit that slam the crowd was completely deflated. I have never heard anything as silent as they were. I've been to Wrigley many of times when they were losing and the crowd was still roaring, last night was different. It was ominous. Did you see the faces of the fans? Mine was probably the same my jaw clenched up, my eyes shut cursing quietly to myself.

What can I say?

The Dodgers look like a team that won 97 games not the Cubs. They couldn't hit and they couldn't field! 

Zambrano pitched well enough to win, but had no help defensively. 2 errors in the 2nd inning one should have been an inning ending double play. Lee booted a routine grounder UGH! Ramirez and Theriot then contributed their errors a little later. The bats didn't come alive till the 9th inning and then only briefly. So far this series has been hard to watch and I can honestly say I'm not looking forward to Saturday. 

Saying that, I truly hope the Cubs don't get swept. What needs to happen for them to win this series short of a miracle. It seems their confidence is completely gone. I guess you just have to tell the team to go out and have fun. Treat this as just another game. Forget about being down 0-2 and just go out there and play ball. Harden can most definetly provide the much needed spark the Cubs need to make this happen. The vets need to step up and produce, the infield needs to play no mistake baseball and they need to be aggressive on the base paths, provided we get anyone on base.

After watching the Cubs implode over the last 2 days I think its time to let go of the hope that they can win. Time to give my undivided attention to the Bears.

Well where do I start? The 2-2 Bears take on the 0'fer Lions. The Bears have been in every game this year and could very well be 4-0 but alas they are not. 2 should have been wins turned into 2 heartbreaking losses. 

On to the game...  The Bears come into this game with a top 10 running back and a QB who has actually been good in the first half of the last 2 games. The Goal Line Stand by the defense last week against the Eagles should provide a huge spark for a defense that has let 2 games slip away in the wanning minutes against the Panthers and Buccaneers. 

I'm looking for a huge game finally, for the Bears offense. Forte should be able to rack up tons of yards rushing against a horrendous Lions defense. Look for Orton to have a complete game this week too. I'm excited just thinking about this one. A Bears win coupled with Packers loss puts the Bears atop of the NFC Central. Once they are there I don't see the Packers taking it away from them. Let me know your thoughts thus far for the season as well as the upcoming game on Sunday. Till next time... L8tr!

Lions fans were booing early and often in this game and I don't blame them. They looked completely lost. Miscues and dropped passes killed them against the Bears. I loved it. The Bears needed a game like this to gain confidence in the offense. Orton loves playing against the Lions, with good reason. He was 24-of-34 for 334 yards and had a 121.4 rating, going to 3-0 against Detroit. The Lions stacked the box making Orton beat them and he did exactly that connecting on TD passes of 9 yards to Forte and 12 yards to Hester, who had a nice spin move to get himself in the endzone.

The defense also looked good in this one. Allowing only one play longer than 20 yards. Registering 4 sacks a forced fumble and an interception for a TD. Only giving up a total 185 yards to the Lions offense has to be a thrill for the Bears. I know it’s the Lions but the Bears looked good throughout this game. The only Lions score came off of a Hester fumble on their own 22 yard line. With the Bears already leading 31-0 the TD meant nothing. I would have loved to see a shut out but I’ll take the win.
