Jim Edmonds had two huge home runs against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. The home runs just added salt to the Brewers' wounds. The Cubs beat the Brewers in games 1 through 4..... 6-4, 7-1, 7-2, and 11-4. The beating the Brewers received from the Chicago Cubs throughout the 4-game sweep hit a nerve. Frustration was obvious in the 9th inning when Eric Gagne of the Brewers threw behind Jim Edmonds on the fourth pitch of the at-bat.
It seemed obvious Gagne intentionally threw at Edmonds considering Milwaukee reliever Seth McClung was getting warm in the bullpen as Gagne was pitching. With the score the way it was at that point in the game, teams normally just throw the current pitcher until the inning is over, no matter how much the opposing team scores in the inning.

Home plate umpire Doug Eddings wasted no time in ejecting Gagne. Brewers' coach Ned Yost was outraged and argued the ejection. Edmonds on the other hand stayed surprisingly calm and continued to take his base after ball four.
Seth McClung came in to pitch after Gagne and threw high and tight to Geovany Soto which sparked some disgust from the crowd at Miller Park which at that point was mostly made of Cubs fans.
Edmonds was quoted as saying, "I don't make anything of it....I know where it came from. I've played this game a long time."
The Cubs as a team didn't make anything of it Thursday night either, but don't be surprised if they make something of it on September 16th when the Brewers come to the friendly confines of Wrigley.
