One Hundred and Done!!Any one can have a bad century, not really just the Cubbies. Contrast this with the Florida marlins who routinely blow up their Roster trading or not Resigning their star players ( for  example  Miguel Cabrera and Dontrel Willis this offseason) and have only been  around for 15 years but still have found a way to walk away from the “Fall Classic” twice with the title. But as they embark on their 0ne-hundreth year since they brought the title back to “chi-town”, cubs fans have their best hope in years to finally put to rest the curse of the Billy Goat and maybe let someone other then Moises Alou forgive Steve Bartman for helping the cubs choke away their last real shot at going to the World Series. The emergence of Rich Hill Last year and the additions of Jason Marquis and Ted Lilly to bolster their starting rotation and Ryan Dempster moving back into the rotation (who looked great in that role in spring training and in his opening start of the season) after spending last year as the cubs closer, along with Carlos Zambrano (thinned down playing soccer in the off-season and in a contract year) finally gives the cubs the starting pitching depth to seriously contended without relying heavily on the fragile arms of Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. Couple this Carlos Marmol arguable the dirtiest set-up man in baseball and insurance policy at closer for the DL happy Kerry Wood who with his fastball still approaching 100 m.p.h. and the hope that the bullpen will although his arm to finally stay healthy. If so with Wood’s undeniable talent at closer that would provide the cubs with the best one, two punch to close a game in the National League. Also, the addition of Kosuke Fukodume who does look like the Combination of Ichiro and Matsui he was hyped as, and a full season with the big league club for Geovany Soto, C who tattooed the ball in his brief stint in the majors last season bolster an already potent cubs lineup lead by Derreck Lee, Alfonso Soriano, and Aramis Ramirez.  Also, with Lees apparent return of strength in his wrist belting three homers and inflicting pain on the baseball routinely this year and the possibility of adding Brain Roberts in a trade from the Orioles this has the makings of one of the best Lineups in recent memory if not all-time. So barring a barnyard animal related curse or another idiot wearing headphones, hardly paying attention to the biggest cubs game in decades (game 6 2003 playoffs)……….. (which makes you wonder how that bastard got THOSE seats to THAT game, I STILL BLAME YOU STEVE BARTMAN, by the way) this season appears to have the makings of a great one for the Cubbies.
