Fukudome

3 October 2008

expect Zambrano to pick a fight with Derrek Lee in the dugout?  He should have.  You have Fukudome swinging and missing and looking at his bat like a girlfriend that cheated on him.

row my two cents out here for which Cubs I think deserve to be on the All-Star team.  Soriano, Fukudome and Soto should all be voted in.  I think DeRosa may sneak on the team, not by voting but since 2B is a little weak this year and he has been solid.  Theriot deserves to be but I think SS is too deep for him to make it.  I would like to see Lee and Ramirez on but I think only Ramirez will get on.  As far as pitchers go I see Zamabrano and Dempster being locks to get on.  Marmol too I think is a good bet.  If Wood leads the league in saves by the break I think he will be too.  So in total I can see 9 cubs deserving to make it.  In reality I'm gonna 7 will:  Soriano,

Should Theriot caught the ball from Cedeno? Sure. Did Fukudome look bad against Fuentes? Yeah. What more can we expect out of these guys at this point? Best start since '75, got a game and a ha

Let's have Theriot lead off and Fukudome hit 2nd while Soriano comes back but we shall see. Until then, let's enjoy the winning streaks of the Cubs and wait for the Cardinals to falter and hope

I never thought in my wildest dreams that Fukudome would go 3-for-3 in his first game in the U.S. nor did I think there was any chance he was going to hit a game-tying three-run homer. He looks impressive for the first game at least.

Not happening, is it.

- Cubs are on TV for the next two days on CSN. It will be nice to see Fukudome live in action for the next couple afternoons and with the weather this winter in Chicagoland, it is always pleasant to see green grass and warmer weather. Spring will be here before we all know it.

I first see this as the media battle.  Who will have more coverage on this guy:  Cubs media or the Japanese media?  Besides that, this will be

obably one of the best he has came up with since juggling everyone around.  Lou suggested Fukudome would bat third, followed by Lee and Ramirez.  The whole lineup would probably look like this:  Soriano, Theirot,

at 162 game season, working on fundamentals, hitting, pitching and learning how to communicate with Fukudome. Not about whether Aramis Ramirez raises chickens for cockfighting in the Dominican Republic. Not about bold predictions, as given by Ryan Dempster, who is not sure if he's even going to gain one of the starting positions in the rotation.

Look at our starting lineup we have Soriano, Derosa, Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome, Theriot, Pie, and Soto.  This should be a lineup that should click on all cylinders.  It should be a different lineup than last year because in here we have more speed and more contact hitters.  Only problem is what will happen to Pie.  He seemed uncomforable everytime he stepped up to bat last year.  He seemed intimidated by every pitch that came by him.  Sure he can hit with the kids, but these are the big boys now.  He is the most piviotal part of this lineup for it to work.  The one problem Cubs hitters had last year was hitting runners in scoring position.  They were just horrible in doing so.  They did not go out and find that spark plug to help drive these runs in when it counted the most.  Sure the Cubs have a younger team on the field, but this will hurt them when they make their final push to the playoffs.
