- In the AL, Division Winners: Red Sox, Tigers, Mariners. Wild Card: Indians. Playoffs: Indians beat Red Sox in 5, Tigers beat Mariners in 4. ALCS: Tigers beat Indians in 7. That brings us to a World Series of Cubs-Tigers. The only 2 times the Cubs have won the World Series were against the Tigers, the last time the Cubs were in the Fall Classic was against...you guessed it the Tigers. It is only fitting to have them play again. Somehow, the Cubs will have home-field because of the All-Star Game and will prevail in 7 games over Detroit.

While the Red Sox do not need to panic at news that Curt Schilling will be sidelined with shoulder soreness until at least the All Star Break this season, they should explore other options for starting pitching depth in case Schilling is unable to return or is ineffective when he does.
